Successful empowerment rests in a commitment to work with team members using Win-Win Agreements. In a department or team, this mean the four needs of the organization (financial health, growth, synergistic relationships and meaningful contribution) overlap with the four needs of the individual (to live – economic, to learn – mental, to love- social emotional, and to leave a legacy – spiritual).
Think how absurd it would be to work to empower and build trust with your employees and then say, “But I can’t trust you to be honest about your work – I still know best,” It would be a perfect example of misalignment of values and results.
